在萬榮鄉和卓溪鄉有許多布農族部落，其獨特的「八部合音」是最吸引我的文化瑰寶。祈求小米豐收的八部合音是人與人、人與神的溝通媒介，亦是不可或缺的社會祭祀儀式。

 

我曾現場領略過這種力量強大的儀式，從低吟，到最終強大繁複的總和，彷彿將人與大地產生了神奇而微妙的串聯，一陣陣音浪從溪谷竄至山巔，帶著所有感動的靈魂，直達天際！

這種真實又迷離的感受無以名狀，於是我用粗獷的筆法、跳躍的顏色、奇幻的構圖，將曾經被感動的那一瞬，記錄在畫布之上。
 

There are many Bunun tribes in Wanrong and Zhuoxi Townships, Hualien. Their unique octet is a cultural treasure that appeals to me the most. Performed to pray for a bumper harvest of millet, the octet is a way for people to communicate with each other as well as with the god. It is also an indispensable social ritual.

 

I have experienced this powerful ritual. The low humming and the strong complex harmony at the end seemed to form a miraculous and subtle connection between humans and the land. Wave after wave, the music surged from the valley to the mountain peak and reached the sky with all the touched souls.

The real but also blurred feeling is indescribable. Therefore, I depict it with coarse strokes, vibrant colors, and a fantastic composition, recording the moment that touched me on the canvas.
