Heart's Hui-Lan

花蓮地處斷層帶，一面臨接陸地，岩貌景觀豐富，在臺灣百岳中花蓮就佔了43座，可見地景的多樣性；一面臨接太平洋，因縣地狹長，所以海岸地形風貌也非常多變、豐富。

 

對於花蓮的美不只是一種回憶，以水墨寫實、寫意、潑墨等手法，讓觀賞者在作品中感受山巒流水自然景觀的節奏感，使畫面在平面中透露出動態的視覺效果。透過自我情感的意象投射，把對花蓮的記憶一絲絲地重現在畫面中，讓觀賞者不只是回想花蓮的美，更能透過畫面的表達勾起對花蓮的情感，進而提起再次造訪花蓮的心。

Hualien is located on fault lines, with one side connected to mountains and another to the Pacific Ocean. On the mountains side, Hualien features a variety of rocky landscapes, accommodating 43 of the top 100 peaks in Taiwan, creating diverse landscapes. The ocean side, due to its long coastline, also has a variety of coastal landscapes.

The beauty of Hualien does not exist solely in memory. The techniques of ink painting, such as realistic and impressionistic painting and ink-splashing, allow the audience to feel the rhythms of the natural landscape, like the mountains and the flowing water, creating a dynamic visual effect on the flat paper. The artist represents every detail of his memory of Hualien by projecting his personal feelings and imagery onto the paper. The audience can, therefore, recall the beauty of Hualien, and their feelings toward Hualien can further be aroused by the painting, motivating them to visit Hualien again.
