Depth Recovery

Media: Stainless steel, PVC canvas, acrylic, image output, pendant light

I try to use the surface of the wall I see as the “starting line” and the traces of repairment as the “materials” and deduce the look inside the wall. The process of restoring the traces on the wall surface is like the creation of an island on the sea. In this piece, a transparent wall is created with semi-transparent blue plastic sheets. The wall surface blocks the audience’s bodies and visions. The spaces on both sides of the wall are connected with the holes in the wall, and the transparent blue space symbolizes a space being intentionally selected or highlighted. The semi-transparent blue wall is no longer firm in the space, swinging slowly in the wind from the air conditioner and fan. It starts to breathe and have emotions, like the thermal expansion and contraction of matter and the ebbs and flows of the sea. Through the holes in the wall, the space behind it can be observed. Like a diary, it presents the image diaries of different places in the space.
