正方形是一個行為的呈現形式和最終結果,它不指涉、不比喻、不再現、無意義,是也僅僅是一個行為。這件作品在正方形重複行為的基礎之上,又實驗性地添加了六種動作去製造痕跡。談到人在進行動作時必然與時間相關聯,或者說,不管人有沒有在行動,時間都必然流逝。因此,重複行為某種程度來說變成了計量時間的單位。
 
正方形也可以是一個符號,但這個符號與日常所指是切開的。我盡可能用最複雜的方式去處理這個對我來說其實不具有任何意義的符號,用最鉅細靡遺的繁複工序去製造一個最無功用的東西。我認為所有的能指跟所指,在一系列重複行為的影響下都會產生意義的斷裂。當符號是空白的時候,它就能接住所有意義的投射。

A square is a form of behavior and the final result. It does not indicate, compare, or represent anything. It is meaningless. It is and only is a behavior. This piece is created on the basis of a square’s repetitive behavior, featuring an experimental act of creating traces by adding six movements. A human conducting an action is definitely associated with time. In other words, time inevitably passes regardless of whether humans move or not. Therefore, repetitive behavior is a time unit to a certain extent.

A square can also be a symbol, but this symbol is different from what is commonly understood. I try my best to deal with this symbol that is completely meaningless to me in the most complex way, that is, to manufacture the most useless object with the most careful and complex process. I believe that all the signifiers and the signified will be separated by a meaning gap after a series of repetitive behaviors. When the symbol is emptiness, it can capture every projection of meaning.

Finally, all the controllable factors follow the exact same process during the creation of the piece, and the process is strictly implemented. All the visual differences seen in the piece are caused by uncontrollable factors in the world.
